Red soil is acidic which is best for acid loving plants such as rose, camellia, rhododendron, gardenia, marigolds, begonia, caladium, potatoes, parsley, blueberries, amaryllis, jasmine, etc.

Note that red soil should serves as soil amendments or additives to your soilmix to increase acidity.
